My name is Andy Vickers and I have been working in the coffee industry for nearly 15 years. I love everything there is about coffee-as a plant, commodity, beverage-you name it! I completed a World History degree from Oakland University, and my senior paper was about the rise of coffee in colonial North America.
On top of my adoration of coffee I also sincerely value being an integral part of people's days. I love getting to know my guests and making a small positive impact on their day. I am currently the District Manager at Birmingham Roast in Metro Detroit. Before that, I spent many years managing other coffee shops in the area.
A few years into my coffee career, I was drawn to the competitive world of free pour latte art. I dedicated a ton of my time to learning the skill and I have now competed and placed first in numerous local and regional competitions. Additionally, I have participated in several national and international competitions including Coffee Fest on four different occasions. I have trained over a hundred baristas how to pour latte art and now I am ready to expand to an online forum. This page is totally dedicated to showing you how to pour latte art. From the very basics to the most complex tulip or Rosetta, I would love to be your guide! I will offer tips, tool recommendations, equipment recommendations, and .hope to serve as an online mentor!
